The Wedding
Essential Requirements
The wedding ceremony will take place in Kolkata, India at an historic location. Due to the security requirements we ask that you provide us with a copy of the following documents by October 15th 2015 to ensure entry to the venue.

Accommodation
We have a limited number of rooms left at the fantastic guest house where the wedding party will be staying. Please let us know if you are interested in staying with us as soon as possible.
Getting There
Please make sure you obtain an Indian Visa prior to leaving your country of residence.
The wedding ceremonies will take place over the course of five days starting on December 3rd 2015. Please aim to arrive in Kolkata by December 2nd 2015.
3rd December - Ashirbaad
Elders from both sides of the family will bless Supriya & Aldemar.
4th December - Aai Budo Bhaat.
Supriya will enjoy her last meal as a single woman with family and friends.
5th December - Wedding Day.
Dawn - Nandi Mukh
This ceremony will pay tribute to Supriya and Aldemar's ancestors and request their blessings.
10:00 - Tatta
Procession from groom's side bearing gifts and turmeric paste.
11:30 - Gaye Holud.
Turmeric ceremony. An odd number of married women are to anoint Supriya with turmeric paste. Guests to wear yellow.
16:00 - Wedding Ceremony.
This will consist of several rituals culminating with the bride and groom walking around the fire seven times (Saat Paak). They will then exchange flower garlands and tie the ends of their garments to signify their union. Finally Aldemar will apply red sindoor powder to Supriya's hair part to indicate that she has become a married woman.
18:30 - Wedding Dinner and Dance.
00:00 - Bashorghor.
All night celebration where family and friends entertain the couple to keep them awake through the night.
7th December - Tatta.
Procession from bride's side bearing gifts.
Phool Shojja.
The newly wed couple's bed will be adorned with flowers. Supriya will wear floral jewellery
8th December - Bou Bhaat.
Reception dinner.
Kolkata
Formerly known as Calcutta, this city is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal and is the second largest city in India. The local language is Bengali. Kolkata is a bustling city and is known as India's intellectual and cultural capital. It is also famous for its delicious sweets.
To the British empire Kolkata was the second most important city after London. It is also a gateway to the Himalayas and the world heritage listed Sundarbans, home of the Bengal tiger.
During December temperatures can range between 11 - 25 oC. The local currency is the Indian Rupee.
